July Priest Schedule

To Post or Not to Post?

At our preparatory retreat for Partners in the Gospel back in April, the other pastors I spoke with were divided on whether or not to post their Mass rotation schedules. The great fear is that people will start following their favorite priests around, when we would prefer that they focus on the Eucharistic presence of Jesus which is the same no matter who celebrates Mass.

However, in thinking it over, I have come back to the foundational role that communication will play in our long-term success in Partners in the Gospel. Yes, posting the schedule may have undesirable consequences, but we are going to be so much healthier as a Family if everything is out in the open for discussion. Maybe there develops a practice of Mass hopping - fine, let’s talk about that and where it comes from. Then maybe we can find a solution that suits everyone. Better to talk something out than intentionally withhold information unnecessarily.

Always Subject to Change

This schedule has changed many, many times in the last few weeks, and I believe it might change a few more times as the month progresses. The fact that I am posting it does not create a contractual obligation. This is just the schedule as it exists right now.

The schedule Itself

There is no easy way to format this schedule for a website, so you are stuck with a link to a PDF.
